 Church News/Events -

Adult education class will continue this Sunday at 8:45 a.m.  In this adult education series, we will continue to study the relationship between Christianity and the environment by discussing how our church can embody environmental stewardship and love for God's creation.  The more the merrier!  We meet in the fellowship hall.

SPRING RAFFLE FUNDRAISER
The time for our Spring Raffle Fundraiser will be coming soon.  Sign up sheets for your prize donations will be on the table in the narthex at church starting this Sunday.  Please return the filled out forms by Sunday, March 14.  If you have any questions, please ask Carol Roethel or any Consistory member.  Thank you.

The Lenten season is here.  Below you will find the Lenten schedule.

The remaining Wednesday night Lenten services (Mar 10 – Mar 24) will start off with a soup supper at 6:30 p.m. followed by the worship service starting at 7:00 in Fellowship Hall.  If you cannot make it to the soup supper, you are still welcome to join us for the worship service.

The Maundy Thursday service will be on April 1st at 7:00 p.m., with Communion.  We will not have a soup supper before this service.

In regards to the soup suppers, we are asking for people to volunteer to bring soup.  There will be a sign up sheet on the table in the narthex with the details.  Please sign up if you are able.  We would really appreciate it.

 Church Cancellation Protocol

When there is a threat of snowy/icy conditions, the consistory president and pastor will check weather forecasts & other cancellations via various media (TV, radio, internet).  They will call one another with this information.  If the conditions are deemed unsafe and other churches in the area are also cancelling, they will make a decision by 6:30 AM Sunday morning whether to cancel Christian education and worship.  The consistory president will call the other consistory members to inform them of the decision.  If church is cancelled, it shall be posted on WHBL radio station and church’s website.  Consistory members will create a phone tree to contact families within the church.  They will be assigned to call families from a portion of the alphabet (i.e., Last names beginning with A-E; F-I; J-L; M-P; Q-S; T-Z).

The signup sheet for volunteers wishing to help with shoveling
sidewalks this winter is on the table in the narthex.  If you are able
please consider helping out with this task and signup for a week or two.
