Music plays an integral part of our life at Bethel.  Our worship service is always filled with music, including hymn singing, organ or piano preludes and postludes, Choir selections, piano solos, occasional instrumental solos, Sunday School singing or even the Youth Group singing.

During the summer months (from Memorial Day to Labor Day), the choir takes a break, and music is provided by the Sunday School and instrumental or vocal soloists from the congregation.

A vital part of the overall ministry at Bethel, Music is recognized in the congregations'  "Long Range Plan".  Emphasis is placed on supporting our church musicians through private organ lessons, developing and encouraging our youth and adult members to be part of the choir, and encouraging and welcoming other musical forms of expression.

Choir

Bethel's choir is a mixed choir made-up of confirmed members of the congregation.  We currently have about 30 members who sing for every Sunday Service and Special Services from September through May.  Practices are Wednesdays at 7:30 pm.  Members of the choir have been meeting to sing in the church for most of Bethel's history.

Christmas Band

Bethel's band was formed in 1997.  We have about 25 members ranging from beginning band students to adults who play for two services during the Christmas and Advent Season.  They usually play some pre-service music and then accompany a few carols.  Quite a few of the adults play in area community bands also but some only play this one special time of year.

Handbells

Currently a committee is working on financing the addition of a 3 octave set of Malmark Handbells with accessories for use in our music ministry.  Funds are needed to purchase bells, foam, tables, mallats, gloves, and music.
